About The Program:
Art Start Creative Career Interns support the design and execution of summer projects, including a youth-curated group exhibition and The Artist Statement public art project.
Through these projects, interns explore and express their identities using multidisciplinary art forms—building their portfolios and artist statements through activities like photoshoots, storytelling, interviews, creative writing, poetry, and visual art.
Their work will be showcased at Art Start Studio during Milwaukee’s Summer and Fall 2026 Gallery Night MKE.
Interns also create a professional portfolio/lookbook, resumes, and business cards, gain networking experience, and receive college readiness support and access to mental health resources from experienced Art Start staff.
